Jean-Claude Ellena created The Different Company in the year 2000 before joining the French luxury house Hermès in 2004 as the house's exclusive in-house perfumer (for 11 perfumes & Collection Hermessence). He has also created many other scents for Bulgari, Frédéric Malle, Van Cleef & Arpels, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Cartier, Yves Saint Laurent, ... .
